After two typhoon-related postponements, the University of Baguio’s Political Science students finally celebrated their much-awaited Vestibule/Acquaintance party with the theme of Echoes of Unity: Where Experiences Meet and Futures Unfold on November 25, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Margarita Hall.

Despite the challenges posed by the weather, the students and the Politis Organization unwavering determination to make the event a reality shone through. The original date was postponed twice due to the onslaught of typhoons, but the students refused to let these setbacks dampen their spirits. Through meticulous planning and unwavering dedication, the organizing committee successfully rescheduled the event, ensuring that the much-awaited gathering would finally take place.

The Political Science Vestibule is an annual activity by the students, faculty, and alumni from the BA Political Science program this event creates a supportive network that promotes cooperation, collaboration, and common interest in the political science community by encouraging a sense of community and camaraderie. This socialization for the program is essential to creating a lively and encouraging learning atmosphere because of the program’s close-knit community.

When the day finally arrived, the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza was transformed into a magical venue. The students, adorned in their most dazzling attires, exuded elegance and sophistication. The air was filled with excitement and anticipation as they eagerly awaited the start of the party.

The night was filled with laughter, music, and unforgettable moments. Some of the highlights of the event were the presentations from each year level: some students performed an on-the-spot roleplay, depicting typical behaviors of lovers, while others presented an entertaining dance performance and a vocal duet. Of course, the BAPS faculty willingly accepted the challenge, performing an act that mimicked solemnizing a well-known couple from the program. The crowd erupted with excitement when Mr. Nicanor Bastian, adviser of the Politis organization, delivered his own rendition of “Demons” by Imagine Dragons. Indeed, the event was not only a celebration of friendship but also a testament to the resilience and creativity of the Political Science students and faculty members.

The successful execution of the Vestibule was a collaborative effort of the entire program. The faculty members and staff provided invaluable support and guidance, ensuring the smooth running of the event. The students themselves, with their dedication, played a big role in making the night a resounding success.
