The Local Government Unit of Quirino Province, in partnership with the Quirinian Students’ Organization – University of Baguio (QSO–UB), is once again set to extend its support beyond borders this coming March 2026 for the 2nd semester of School Year 2025-2026. The initiative aims to provide continued assistance to Quirino scholars currently enrolled in higher education institutions across Baguio City and Benguet, including the University of Baguio (UB), Saint Louis University (SLU), University of the Cordilleras (UC), and Benguet State University (BSU).

The most recent Dakilang Dunong, Dakilang Kinabukasan Program was successfully held on October 18, 2025, at Camp John Hay. The event drew an impressive turnout of nearly 400 college students from various institutions across Baguio City and Benguet, reflecting the program’s expanding reach and sustained impact. Scholars gathered not only to receive financial and institutional assistance but also to strengthen their sense of community and shared commitment to academic excellence.

During the same installment, the newly elected officers of the Quirinian Students’ Organization – University of Baguio (QSO–UB) formally took their oath of office, marking the beginning of a renewed leadership dedicated to advancing the welfare and representation of Quirinian scholars in Baguio City and Benguet. In addition, the Certificate of Accreditation from the University of Baguio Office of Student Affairs (UB OSA) was formally presented to the QSO–UB Chapter, recognizing its official standing and active role within the university.

As the second-semester installment of the program approaches, anticipation continues to build among scholars and organizers alike. Students are now preparing the necessary documentation, while organizers project an even higher turnout compared to the previous semester. The sustained enthusiasm highlights the program’s vital role in empowering Quirinian students pursuing tertiary education outside the province.

This initiative of the Local Government Unit of Quirino Province aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on Quality Education (SDG 4), reinforcing its commitment to ensuring inclusive and equitable access to education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. Through continued collaboration and dedicated support, the program stands as a testament to the province’s investment in the academic success and future leadership of its scholars.
