The University of Baguio GRACES Dance Troupe delivered a distinguished and high-impact performance during the 30th Panagbenga Festival Grand Street Dance Parade held on February 28, 2026, in Baguio City.
Representing the University of Baguio, the troupe, in collaboration with University of Baguio BIBAK Ubbun Kaafuan, presented “Eras of Panagbenga,” a thematic performance that traced the historical journey of the festival—from its early beginnings and years of rebuilding to its transformation into a nationally recognized celebration of cultural pride and community resilience.

The presentation demonstrated technical precision, disciplined formations, and cohesive storytelling, reflecting months of structured rehearsals and artistic refinement. The integration of synchronized choreography and culturally inspired costumes highlighted not only performance excellence but also a strong understanding of heritage representation. Participation in a large-scale city event attended by thousands of spectators required stamina, coordination, and professional commitment, all of which were exemplified throughout the parade route.
Beyond artistic display, the engagement served as an experiential learning platform that strengthened leadership, teamwork, time management, and performance discipline among student members. By participating in one of Baguio City’s most significant cultural celebrations, the troupe reinforced the University’s role in promoting regional identity through the performing arts.

This initiative reflects the University of Baguio’s sustained commitment to holistic and transformative education. By integrating cultural immersion with performance excellence, the activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), promoting learning beyond the classroom through artistic engagement. Furthermore, the collaboration between student organizations supports Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), strengthening institutional cooperation and shared cultural advocacy.
Through this notable participation, the University of Baguio GRACES Dance Troupe demonstrated not only talent and artistic discipline but also meaningful representation of the University in a landmark cultural event—reinforcing its tradition of excellence in performance and community engagement.
