Heavenly Lawingan and Jair Brelo Cansino of Senior High School are crowned as this year’s Mr. and Ms. University of Baguio during the coronation night last April 13, 2023 at the UB Cardinals Gym.
Following behind are Mr. and Ms. SIHTM, Jethro Arvin Gray and Fraulein Mostoles as first runners-up; Mr. SOD – Josef Lardizabal and Ms. SNS – Joanna Cassandra España as second runners-up; Mr. SBAA – Jabez Lumasoc and Ms. SOD – Jessmine Andrei Peñaflor as third runners-up; and Mr. STELA – Jhezereel Bangaoet and Ms. SON – Nena Roschan Escalera as fourth runners-up.
With the theme Bejeweled, candidates from different schools – School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA), School of Nursing (SON), School of Natural Sciences (SNS), School of Dentistry (SOD), School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (SIHTM), and the UB Senior High School (SHS), dazzled the stage with their beauty, charm, confidence, and of course intelligence as they fought for the crown along with their advocacies including Body Positivity, Bullying, Gender Equality, Mental Health Awareness, Nation Building, and Quality Education.
During the awarding of the first set of Minor Awards, Ms. SHS – Heavenly, got Best in Swimwear. On the second set of Minor Awards, Heavenly got Best in Casual Wear and Ms. Photogenic. Along with it, Mr. and Ms. SHS, Jair and Heavenly, garnered Best in Creative Wear and Best in Evening Wear which are both a benchmark win for Senior High School.
