On April 25, 2025, the School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, under the leadership of the faculty and department Dean, Dr. Charesma Grace Killip Lud-ayen, organized a special event titled “Alumni Testimony – A Day of Honor and Triumph.” The gathering brought together alumni and registered criminologists who had successfully passed the licensure examination in February of this year. It celebrated the achievements of these board passers, officially awarding them certificates in recognition of their success, which further contributed to the continued triumph of the department.  Moreover, the event was more than just a recognition ceremony—it emphasized the core values: Dedication, Perseverance, and Excellence in the pursuit of perfection.

During the program, alumni shared personal milestones, including memorable academic and extracurricular experiences, as well as the skills and values they gained throughout their time at the university. Some discussed the challenges they encountered while preparing for the board exam, such as the pressure they felt, the long nights of studying, and the mental and emotional struggles they overcame. Others spoke about the balance they maintained between their studies, work, and family, and the self-discipline required to stay focused during difficult times. Despite these obstacles, each alumnus emphasized their unwavering commitment to achieving their goals, such as passing the licensure exam. Their stories served as powerful reminders that success is built on hope, hard work, sacrifice, and a strong belief in oneself. Furthermore, their testimonies encouraged the attendees to remain determined in their journeys, reinforcing the idea that perseverance is the key to achieving one’s ambitions in life.

Over all, the event was meaningful and unforgettable for all who attended, as it not only celebrated the achievements of the graduates and board passers, but also aimed to strengthen the bond between the alumni of the School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety and fostered a deep sense of pride and unity within the University of Baguio community.
