In the bustling heart of Manila, home to numerous major corporations, the University of Baguio High School launched a groundbreaking initiative where 30 students from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) and Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) programs participated in a work immersion program from March 22 to 28, 2025, in Makati City.
A COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE
This pioneering initiative, launched in partnership with Eastwest International Education Specialists Inc., provided the University of Baguio High School students with an opportunity to train at various organizations and delve into the world of artificial intelligence. The first day set the tone for an exciting week, featuring a captivating discussion by Ms. Jasper Cruz-Forcadas on how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the hospitality and tourism sectors. Her insights on enhancing customer experience and streamlining operations offered students an inspiring glimpse into what the future holds for these industries
MARKING NEW MILESTONES
As students dove into The First Philippine International AI Education Summit 2025—a remarkable event gathering educators, global leaders & CEOs from Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, and the US, and students alike—they were celebrated as the first group to participate in this event. It was a golden opportunity that allowed them to interact with groundbreaking advancements in AI and delve into how these technologies could reshape education itself, sparking excitement for the possibilities that lay ahead.
EXCITING HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES
Day 2 arrived, and students had the opportunity to dive into the Class Virtual Reality (VR) product, which offers over 4,000 curated resources across various educational levels. This VR tool showcased just how effective tech can be in learning. Building on their technological skills, students then got their hands on the DOBOT AI Robotics Arm, learning to code and control AI-driven robotic systems. The students faced a challenge of moving a small block using the robotic arm, but then succeeded, showcasing their ability to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world context.
EXPLORING THE WORLD OF FOREX TRADING
Day 3 introduced students to the dynamic world of foreign exchange (forex) trading. They learned fundamental skills, strategies, and risk management techniques pertinent to the forex markets. Tasked with generating profits using the MetaTrader 5 app by 4 PM, a competitive atmosphere emerged among the students. The day concluded with outstanding performances: Beatrix Amogcao secured first place with a profit of $129.05, followed by Jaira Bautista with $37.32, and Alenzi Bete with $5.06. This experience highlighted the students’ potential for success in trading, demonstrating how expert guidance fosters their growth and enhances their contributions to the city’s economy.
EXPANDING HORIZONS WITH MICROSOFT
On day 4, students continued to sharpen their skills with a seminar titled “Microsoft Official Specialist 365 Apps Training,” aimed at enhancing their familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications. The fifth and final day concluded with a fascinating tour of the Technolab at SMART Tower, where students discovered the latest in technological advancements of SMART company and learned how these innovations are making waves in today’s modern world.
EMBRACING A FUTURE OF POSSIBILITIES
Throughout this immersive program, students from the ABM and ICT tracks gained invaluable, hands-on experiences that fostered collaboration with industry professionals. Each participant earned certificates of participation and completion, which symbolize their dedication to learning and the various tasks they tackled during the week.
The collaboration between the University of Baguio High School and Eastwest International Education Specialists Inc. stands out as a remarkable effort aimed at empowering students for their future careers. By providing real-world experiences and forging strong industry connections, this program equips future professionals to seize new opportunities.
