The University of Baguio’s Lover’s Fest has become a beloved tradition, igniting smiles and inspiration throughout the UBian community. Since its inception by the Supreme Student Council in 2024, the festival has been a vibrant celebration of love, creativity, and campus unity. This year, the School of Information Technology’s Student Administrative Council (SIT-SAC) made its mark by blending technology and artistry in a showcase that wowed students, faculty, and staff alike.
On February 28, 2025, the SIT-SAC transformed their booth into a hub of innovation and nostalgia. Their governor, Jan Danesse Tanelon, led the charge with the unwavering support of their adviser, Ms. Kristal Marcelo. The booth featured a unique mix of tech-driven products and handcrafted artistry, drawing in curious onlookers and enthusiastic buyers.

One of the biggest attractions was their collection of 3D-printed keychains. The keychains were designed with precision and a touch of romance, including heart-shaped Lego pairs, smooth heart designs, and adorable cat figures. This endeavor was made possible by the expertise of the 4th-year Computer Engineering students, led by Ron Leo C. Manangan. These students harnessed their knowledge of 3D designing and printing, bringing their digital creations to life and making technology a tangible part of the festival’s celebration of love.

Adding a nostalgic twist to the mix, the SIT-SAC also set up an old-school-inspired photo booth. Organized by the SAC officers, the booth featured a backdrop made of vintage newspapers, allowing students to capture the moment and take home printed photos adorned with the event’s signature caption, “Lover’s Fest.” The booth exuded a charming, retro aesthetic, inviting festival-goers to reminisce about the past while making new memories.
Beyond technology, the festival also showcased the beauty of traditional crafts. Lahainah Diguermo, a talented artist from SIT-SAC, displayed and sold intricate knitted merchandise, proving that handmade creations still hold a special place in a world driven by digital advancements. Her work drew admiration for its creativity and craftsmanship, adding a warm, personal touch to the event.

Through this event, SIT-SAC not only celebrated the spirit of Lover’s Fest but also highlighted the perfect blend of technology, artistry, and innovation. Their participation demonstrated how love and creativity can be expressed in many forms—from 3D printing and photography to the timeless charm of handmade crafts. The SIT-SAC’s contribution to the festival was more than just a showcase; it was an experience, a story woven through digital and traditional means, leaving a lasting impression on the UBian community.
As the sun set on Lover’s Fest 2025, the echoes of laughter, the joy of shared moments, and the appreciation for creative ingenuity lingered in the air. With SIT-SAC’s remarkable efforts, this year’s celebration was not just about love—it was about passion, innovation, and the limitless potential of young minds ready to shape the future.
