We live in a time where love, in its purest form, transcends romance, it is a bond shared with friends, family, and even ourselves. To be able to love is to take the armor off one’s heart not for anyone else but for oneself. Last February 14, the Peer Facilitators of the University of Baguio Center for Counseling and Student Development served as ambassadors for this message, emphasizing that love can be expressed through thoughtful words and simple acts of kindness.

The PeerCADA’s expressed this sentiment by hosting a simple booth in Campo Manes for the campus community; featuring simple items such as “Gayuma” love jelly, “Love is a Garden” flowers, “Lovelipop” lollipops, mini bouquets, bracelets for two, and a fun photo booth for students to capture special moments. Each item served as a reminder that love manifests in many forms and can be shared with everyone. Moreover, the booth promoted a sense of community and well-being among the UBian students and employees. Hence, regardless of the age, race, gender, or religion represented; each person is worthy and deserving of love and appreciation.

Valentine’s Day might be over, but let us remember that love can be practiced every single day. It is all around us, waiting to be embraced. With the belief that “Your beautiful heart will attract beautiful things,” let us spread kindness and compassion year-round. When love flourishes, the world transforms into a brighter place filled with hope and joy.
