The Supreme Student Council (SSC) of the University of Baguio had the honor of attending the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (SIHTM) as guest speakers for an insightful and engaging round table discussion. Themed “The Next Generation of Leaders: Empower, Inspire, Lead – A Roundtable Discussion with University of Baguio’s Student Leaders,” the event brought together some of the most influential voices in student leadership to inspire and guide the next generation.
The discussion featured prominent figures, including Engr. Javier Herminio Bautista, President of the University of Baguio, and Hon. Levy Lloyd Orcales, Councilor and Barangay Chairman of South Central. Their presence added depth and wisdom to the conversation, reinforcing the importance of leadership, service, and empowerment among student leaders.

For one hour and thirty minutes, the event was designed to be an interactive platform where SSC officers, Genesis Velasco (Vice President), Russel John Olivo (Sec. for Administration), and Richelle Andrei Pineda (Sec. for Finance) – lead discussions at each table. While Princess Janynne Abreu (SSC Executive Secretary) was the main event EMCEE. They engaged with participants by answering thought-provoking and fiery questions about leadership, decision-making, and student leadership responsibilities. The dynamic exchange of ideas fostered a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for aspiring leaders.
The discussion allowed young student leaders to seek guidance, gain insights, and reflect on their roles in shaping the future. The SSC’s involvement demonstrated their commitment to mentorship, empowerment, and inspiring their fellow students to embrace leadership with confidence and purpose.
