UB BS Pysch organized Pinning, Send-off Ceremony

In a momentous event on February 3, 2024, 74 fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Psychology students from the University of Baguio’s “Sapienta et Virtus” batch gathered for their pinning and send-off ceremony.

Excitement buzzed in the university’s RCB DOME as students, faculty, and families witnessed the symbolic ceremony, hosted by 3rd-year psychology students Jester Maglalang and Cyrus Obenita. Ms. Rhoda Carbonel, the UB Psychology Department Program Chair, welcomed everyone with her message in the opening remarks.

Dr. Aida Dapiawen, the Dean of the School of Teachers and Liberal Arts, graced the event as the keynote speaker, emphasizing the importance of wisdom and virtue in real-world experiences. The dean commended the students for their dedication and hard work, expressing confidence in their ability to make meaningful contributions during their practicum. Mr. Junix Delos Santos, UB Psychology instructor, delivered a message challenging every Psychology intern to “choose to be kind with ourselves” when choosing kindness for others.

Initiating the candle lighting ceremony, UB Psyche Organization President Ms. Michaela France S. Ferrer symbolized the students’ dedication to Psychology principles. Mr. Gieyen Tumale, Ms. Leslie Dayote, and Ms. Mikhaela Danielle Morales presented intermission numbers. Each student received a pin, signifying their readiness for the practical phase of their education and their commitment to contributing to the field of psychology through hands-on experiences. Ms. Gabrielle Yvonne E. Rocha led the Internship Pledge.

Filled with a sense of pride and anticipation, the 74 psychology students are now ready to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings during their practicum experiences.
