In celebration of the upcoming graduation season of students from the University of Baguio, the UB Cardinal’s gymnasium was colored in Gray, white and red as the annual Job Fair of 2025 commenced with the theme: “Subscribed to the CCSD L-Series: Learning to Be” with the Hashtag: “#BeJobReadyUbians”. The event was spearheaded and organized by the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD) alongside the UB CCSD Peer Facilitators from different departments of the university. Also, during the event, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) sent out their Job Seeker Registration forms at the entrance for their National Skills Registration Program. The registration was handled by the Peer facilitators (PEERCADA), which started at 08:00 AM and continued up until 3:30PM. The UB JOB Fair 2025 aimed to provide UB’s graduating students and alumni with direct access to recruiters and industry professionals, allowing them to establish meaningful connections. These interactions can lead to internships, job offers, and mentorship opportunities, significantly expanding students’ professional networks. Engaging with alumni and company representatives also offers insights into various industries, aiding students in making informed career choices.

Exciting opportunities await our UBian graduating class and Alumni as numerous partner companies and agencies showed support to this event, namely, the Baguio Country Club, Landco Lifestyle Ventures, Laus Group of companies, Toyota Baguio, Techno Dream web works, The Medical City, Foundever, Concentrix, ThoughtFocus, The BackRoom, GreatBev Incorporated, and Pronto. While DSWD, BPI, DTI, ST. Cabrini, Palawan Pawn Shop, DOLE, The West Burnham Place, and several other companies also attended the annual Jobfair for Career Advising.

University job fairs serve as pivotal platforms bridging the gap between academic learning and professional employment. These events offer students invaluable opportunities to explore career paths, network with industry professionals, and gain insights into the job market, thereby enhancing their employability and making them future-ready. The event showcases sustainable development and highlights the crucial connection of the three SDG goals within the university, which are SDG4: Quality Education, SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Attending job fairs exposes students to a wide array of industries and roles they might not have previously considered. This exposure helps broaden their understanding of potential career paths and the qualifications required for different positions. The event ended at about 5:00 after the Awarding of certificates and a Photo opportunity to the participating partner companies and agencies that attended the event. The University of Baguio’s Center for Counseling and Student Development not only offers services that help the mental health of students, but also secures and supports every UBian in acquiring the knowledge and skills to make informed choices and navigate life’s challenges effectively.
