Khon Kaen, Thailand – On February 21, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 NN, pre-service teachers from the University of Baguio, School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), participated in an international exchange program at the College of Asian Scholars. These enthusiastic student teachers conducted an interactive English-learning event titled “English for Fun and Fair and Graduation.” The program welcomed students from Nongno Prachasan School, Thepsirin School Khon Kaen, and Amatawittaya School, immersing them in creative language activities designed to enhance their English skills.

The event aimed to make English learning both enjoyable and meaningful, while also introducing participants to the College of Asian Scholars as a potential institution for further academic pursuits.

The student teachers structured their lessons in a progressive sequence to help build language proficiency:

  1. Arithmetic Operations and Numbers – Strengthening numeracy while integrating English terminology.
  2. Occupations and Workplaces – Expanding vocabulary related to various careers and professional settings.
  3. Teaching correct usage in daily conversation and written communication.
  4. Phrasal Verbs – Enhancing fluency through commonly used English expressions.
  5. How to Write an Application Letter – Providing practical writing skills for academic and professional contexts.

To ensure the learning experience remained interactive and engaging, the student teachers incorporated games such as Kahoot, Bring Me, and other activities that encouraged active participation and enjoyably reinforced the lessons.

Dr. Kasom Chanawongse, President of the College of Asian Scholars, expressed his gratitude, stating, “Your dedication and enthusiasm in sharing your knowledge with our students are truly commendable. I extend my sincere appreciation to the University of Baguio, especially President Engineer Bautista, for supporting this valuable exchange.”

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 4: Quality Education, 10: Reduced Inequalities, and 17: Partnerships for the Goals, underscoring the importance of inclusive learning, global collaboration, and equal access to quality education. Through this international exchange, both institutions continue to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a globally connected world.
