The University of Baguio School of Nursing celebrated another milestone as they held their 4th Clinical Recognition and 1st Ring Ceremony on May 31, 2025 at the Cardinals Gym. This marks the successful completion of all the Related Learning Experience (RLE) subjects of the fourth-year students. This event saw 351 students receive their certificate of completion as they near the conclusion of their journey as student nurses. Notably, 46 of these completers have already passed the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination last March 2025, and are officially Registered Nurses.

This momentous occasion also lauded the performance of several students in the different RLE subjects and in Leadership and Management. Sharriene Cao received recognition as Best in Maternal and Child Nursing, while Phillip William Alvarado was awarded Best in Community Health Nursing. Erika Zoe Bawaan was named Best in Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Shaneila Pascual was recognized for her excellence in Psychiatric Nursing. Other awardees included Eric Julius Villamor for Disaster Nursing, John Allen Guisdan and Katherine Joy Carlos for Leadership and Management, and Rey Allen Sapanlay, Pauline Iza David, and Arwyl Mayhew Cativo for Research.

“As you embark on the next chapter of your nursing career, know this: your work will not just impact lives – it will change them,” said Dr. Joel John Dela Merced, keynote speaker and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Nurses in Singapore. He challenged the clinical completers to continue learning and to serve with compassion, competence, and integrity.

Adding to the prestige of the event, the School of Nursing also celebrated the inaugural Ring Ceremony for the graduating students of Batch 2025. For the students, this ring symbolizes the culmination of their training as student nurses, and it serves as a reminder of their duties to their patients. “The clinical ring you receive today is not just a symbol of your achievements. It is a reminder of the responsibility you carry,” Dr. Dela Merced added.

The 4th Clinical Recognition and 1st Ring Ceremony concluded on a celebratory and reflective note, as the students looked back and reminisced on their experiences as student nurses. They took a trip down memory lane as they recognized all the hardships and triumphs that shaped their success. They paid tribute to their families and Clinical Instructors, who supported them in their challenging, but rewarding, journey in the School of Nursing.
